Concealed Carry Permits

Once you have completed the form, you must bring it to the office in person, along with a non-refundable fee of $90. The process of obtaining a concealed gun permit can take several weeks, so be sure to plan ahead and allow enough time for your application to be reviewed and approved. Be sure to fill out the form accurately and completely to avoid delays or problems with your application.

Fingerprint Services

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office provides fingerprinting services to the public during normal business hours for a variety of purposes, including ABC licensing, bar exam candidates, child care/day care services, employment, fingerprints requested by other states, FINRA (Financial Services), foster/adoption (US and international), NC lottery licensing, nursing license, precious metals licensing, and visa applications. The cost for one set of fingerprints is $10.00, and extra sets taken on the same day cost $5.00. Customers can choose to receive either electronic fingerprint submissions or inked fingerprint cards. Electronic fingerprint submissions are sent directly to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, while inked fingerprint cards are returned to the customer for submission purposes. Responses to fingerprint submissions are sent to the requesting authority.
